Good morning, Giants fans! Today is Gameday #1 of 20 and if we do things right there will be even more than 20 preseason/regular season games played this fall/winter.
While preseason football isn’t always the most exciting, there’s a lot of things to get excited about for tonight’s game. For starters, tonight’s game will feature the first 2 picks in the 2018 NFL draft in Baker Mayfield and Saquon Barkley.
That’s right.
The best running back in the NFL in Saquon Barkley will be going up against the a quarterback in Baker Mayfield who some people think is immature.
In fact, a lesser blogger would insert the GIF of Baker Mayfield being tackled by Fayetteville Police and say something like “this how NFL teams need to stop Baker Mayfield” or “in his three seasons at Oklahoma, these were the only three guys to ever actually stop Baker Mayfield” but I’m not going to say those things.
Davis Webb is going to break out his crystal ball and show us a glimpse of the future and it will surely look very bright.
Odell Beckham Jr. and Jarvis Landry probably won’t play much, if at all. However, if they do play then I can almost guarantee that they will swap jerseys.
Head Coach Pat Shurmur will step on the field tomorrow night and instantaneously be become a better Giants head coach than Ben McAdoo ever was just by literally not being him.
And the best part? It should be a great game as the Giants are going to be playing the Cleveland Browns who tied an NFL Preseason record in 2017 for best preseason win percentage (1.000). It’s not often that your team is privileged enough to open the preseason against literally one of the best preseason teams of all time.
