BEREA, OHIO- Long time Browns fan Jeff Higgins is adamant that this is finally the year that the Browns get over the hump and make the playoffs. “I know I’ve been fooled before,” says Jeff, “but this year is different.”
But what if I told you that Jeff thinks that this “playoff-bound” Browns team could get even better overnight with the addition of a guy who was just released in the final round of cuts.
“Could you imagine if this Browns team with an already elite receiving core signed a guy like Laquon Treadwell?” asked Jeff. “I know he’s had a rough career so far but people forget that he was a first round pick and he already knows Kevin Stefanski’s system!”
Another option that Jeff loves is former Cardinals and Dolphins Quarterback Josh Rosen, who just signed with the Buccaneers practice squad. “If we signed (Josh) Rosen to back up Baker Mayfield in case he gets injured or COVID then that would be a steal,” Jeff said. “We could sign him directly to our active roster off of the Buccaneers practice squad and we’d have two of the top quarterbacks from the 2018 draft.”
This time of year are filled with so much hope for so many fans. Each team starts every season with the same record and everyone, even Browns fans, are still filled with immense hope that maybe, just maybe, that 6th string wide receiver they may add is the difference between going 6-10 and 10-6.
