Could the Steelers Add this Defensive Star?

Could JJ Watt find his way to Pittsburgh? Could we see all three Watt brothers on the same team next year? It’s a possibility now that the Texans appear ready to accommodate JJ Watt in a trade. Watt has one year and $17.5 million left on his contract which also carries $0 in dead/non guaranteed money. At 31 years old, Watt is not looking for money, he’s looking for a championship a run in the playoffs.

The Steelers are currently $21 million in the hole, moving on from Vance McDonald, Eric Ebron and with Maurkice Pouncey seeming ready to retire the Steelers would save $19.2 million. Ben Roethlisberger is expected to restructure his contract to free up some space as well. But will that really be enough to accommodate Watt’s contract? Probably not. The Steelers will likely need Watt to take a pay cut to come play with his brothers.

What would the cost be? Houston will most certainly be looking for a picks as they try to rebuild. Best case scenario for Pittsburgh, no one bites on Houston’s asking price and Watt is released to test the market.

Assuming Watt finds his way to Pittsburgh we could see a very hungry and rejuvenated JJ Watt. Heyward, Tuitt and Watt would also be able to rotate throughout the year keeping each other fresh and reducing the risk of injury.

Do you wanna see TJ and JJ in black and yellow next year?
