Folks, it’s a big day for NFL fans as it appears that Apple TV+ is set to receive the rights to NFL Sunday Ticket beginning in the 2023 NFL season. DIRECTV is set to have the rights to NFL Sunday Ticket for one more season.
This is big news for sports fans as Apple TV+ should give football fans many more options to watch the games, including *potentially* making a package where you can buy the streaming rights for just one team instead of having to buy the entire package.
The deal is set to be between $2B and $2.5B annually which is a ton of money for the NFL. Disney (ESPN+) and Amazon were also interested in the streaming rights package but it seems that they were beat out by Apple.
Apple is currently keeping the deal under wraps as the deal will not go into effect until 2023 but expect an official announcement in the coming months.
