MAJOR RUMOR: The Giants Could Be After A Top Wide Receiver

Folks, it’s great to be 4-1. When your team is 4-1, it’s common to hear rumors that they are looking to add players to their roster. It’s no secret that the Giants desperately need wide receiver help and they just may be after it.

Jay Glazer of Fox Sports reported that teams have begun to call about DJ Moore.

Then a Giants fan page on Twitter conveniently called @NYGRumorMill decided to post this to get the fanbase up in arms.

Currently, there are no confirmed reports that the Giants have called on DJ Moore or Terrace Marshall. This is simply a highly unconfirmed rumor at this time. But it does make you think.

Could the Giants fit in DJ Moore under the cap? That would be tough. His 3 year/$61M extension kicks in next offseason as well.

Then there’s the issue of cost. I’d be all for the Giants trading away a premium draft pick if this team was going to contend for the Super Bowl, but the reality is that this team is still far away from that. DJ Moore would be a nice piece to add but not at the price of losing a potential future franchise quarterback.

Overall, I’d say the likelihood of the Giants making a move for DJ Moore is very low. They simply don’t have the draft capital or personnel to make a move like this.

With that being said, never say never. If the Panthers go into full tank mode then it could become a possibility if they’re willing to sell him for cheap.
