Folks, the Giants opened up as underdogs against the Seattle Seahawks for their week 8 contest in Seattle. Vegas has the Giants opening up as 3.5 point underdogs with a total set at 44.5 points.
At first glance, it seems disrespectful for a team who’s 6-1 to be underdogs against Geno Smith but when you think about it deeper, Geno Smith has had an incredible season this year. I could see this line shrinking a bit if the Seahawks have to go without star WR DK Metcalf as well.
When it comes down to it, not a lot of 6-1 teams have gotten the disrespect that the Giants have. To some extent, I get the hesitancy to put them as favorites for the game considering the fact that the roster is still devoid of talent in a lot of areas, especially on offense.
At the same time, it’s crazy to me that a team who is 6-1 isn’t getting any respect. The team has found a way to win almost every game this season. That should say something. Good teams find a way to win, bad teams find a way to lose.
So I for one am fine with the Giants being underdogs if they keep finding ways to win games. Hopefully it motivates them to go out and keep winning.
