Folks, the legend of Brian Daboll continues to grow. Not only should Daboll be the coach of the year this year, but he should be Time Magazine’s Person of the Year. Why? Because he cares about the people who work for him.
Check out this clip of Erin Andrews talking about how he has a hut where he hangs out with the groundskeepers before every practice.
Brian Daboll is a man who has never forgotten where he’s came from and that’s important. No matter how big the bright lights of New York shine, he’s the same person. His grandfather was a groundskeeper so what does Brian Daboll do? He makes sure they feel appreciated. There’s a life lesson in that for all of us.
On top of that, having a boss who has an open door policy is important. It shows humility and that he’s open to every single idea. That’s how you build a culture in the NFL that’s centered on winning. You have to win off the field in order to win on the field.
So kudos to Brian Daboll for being a great head coach but an even better person. Hopefully he’s the guy leading the Giants for a long, long time.
