Folks, it’s been a difficult week across the National Football League. Seeing Damar Hamlin collapse on the field was painful for the football community as a whole. Fortunately, Hamlin is trending in the right direction and it appears as if the worst is over. With that news, the NFL released a wild playoff scenario.
First, let’s go through the NFL’s press release.
For starters, it sounds like there’s a very strong chance that the AFC Championship game will be played at a neutral site. Essentially, if Buffalo/Cincinnati plays against Kansas City in the AFC Championship game then it will be played at a neutral site so long as Buffalo and Kansas City the same result on Sunday.
On top of that, the NFL released a wild playoff scenario where the Cincinnati Bengals and Baltimore Ravens possibly decide who hosts a playoff game against them with a coin toss if the Ravens win this weekend.
Talk about a scenario where one would hope that tails never fails.
At the end of the day, all of this is secondary to the health and wellbeing of Damar Hamlin. Hopefully he continues his recovery and becomes stronger than ever.
Lastly, kudos to the NFL for doing the best that they can in an impossible situation. Thanks again to the doctors who saved his life with a rapid CPR response!
